Nightfire Press is a one-woman show. So why is this all written in the first person plural? We like using the royal "we."
Ok, the truth is, being a one-woman show, it gets a bit lonely, and it's nice to have company, even if it's only in our own head(s?).

Founded, owned, operated, and in all other ways attached to the person of Sheena Kim, Nightfire Press was launched in 2004, although custom work in the form of wedding invitations appeared in 2001*, and our first commercial card designs were first printed in 2003, sans press name.

After years under the fluorescent lights of academia, Sheena discovered the wonders of the world of letterpress and promptly took a detour from her debatably promising career as a clinical psychologist. Now located in Chicago and armed with a moderately-sized hand-operated antique letterpress, Sheena spends her time designing cards and dreaming of becoming the next big thing in letterpress.

With a line of greeting cards inspired by vintage clipart, everyday life, and too many years of dating the wrong guys, Nightfire Press offers creative cards for any occasion.

The year 2004 also marked our first tentative step into the world of art and craft fairs, with not-too-pathetic results, prompting us to try more fairs. Retail stores in the Chicago area came next, and now we're expanding retail stores in other states and the world of Internet shopping!

If you are a retailer interested in carrying Nightfire Press products, please contact us for more information! If you have a friend who's a retailer, have them contact us!

* What passes for our conscience compels us to make a confession. What we mean by this statement is that we started out by designing our own wedding invitations, since we couldn't find anything that we liked. Obviously, things just spun out of control.
